Vintage or Antique Neon Signs

Vintage? Antique? Or just old and used?
Did you know that there is no such thing as a vintage or antique neon sign? Unlike other things such as cars or furniture, neon signs are never considered to be vintage or antique. This is because it can be re-created with ease and made with better materials. Since neon signs are made out of glass tubing, there is nothing special about it to make the vintage or antique. Its the same hand bent glass as its done today. The only thing it can be called is old or used. Its funny how people lable things as vintage or antique just to charge more money for it. In the end however, neon signs are just glass tubes bent to form a shape and sealed with neon or argon gas to create the glow. Its was done this way over 100 years ago and its still done the exact same way today. So when looking at buying a vintage or antique neon sign at a yard sale, auction or estate sale or some collector, remember you are just buying an old neon sign that has been used. Chances are you can get the exact same neon sign custom made for you, for a fraction of the price.
